$330,000.00 Settlement for a 56 Year Old Man Who Sustained Injuries to His Neck and Knee Following a Car Accident
On October 26, 2012, a 56 year old man was driving to work and in the process of making a right-hand turn into the driveway to his office in Meriden, he was struck on the right side of his truck by another motorist who was attempting to pass his truck, causing him to sustain severe injuries. This claim was settled against the other operator for his policy limits of $20,000.00 and a claim was then instituted against the man’s insurance company for underinsured motorist benefits. As a result of the accident, the man sustained a herniated disc in his neck at C5-C6 which will require him to undergo surgery in the future, as well as a torn medial meniscus in his right knee, which caused him to undergo surgery on his right knee. Suit was instituted in New Haven Superior Court and the underinsured motorist claim was settled on the first day of jury selection for $310,000.00.
