On January 11, 2008, a 40 year old woman was walking in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant located in the Greater Waterbury area when she was caused to slip and fall on ice, causing her to sustain chondromalacia of the patella of her left knee and post traumatic patellar tendonitis of the left knee, among other injuries. The plaintiff was subsequently seen by several different orthopedic surgeons and was eventually referred to an orthopedic who performed arthroscopic surgery on her left knee. Suit was instituted in Waterbury Superior Court against the defendant fast food restaurant and the case settled for $115,000.00 shortly before trial.
