On February 14, 2007, a 50 year old chiropractor was exiting his office with a patient when he was caused to slip and fall on ice located on the sidewalk of the premises, causing him to fall on the pavement and further causing him to sustain a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder, among other injuries. The doctor was subsequently examined by an orthopedic physician who indicated that the doctor would need to undergo surgery in the future in order to repair the torn rotator cuff. Suit was instituted in Meriden Superior Court against the defendant landlord and the case settled for $125,000.00 following a mediation that was held shortly before trial.
